Educational Program
At St Stephens Belrose Kindergarten, we provide an Educational Program and learning environment that is play-based, stimulating, creates excitement, sparks curiosity and is FUN! Our program is planned collaboratively and lead by experienced degree qualified Early Childhood Teachers and experienced Educators in ratios that exceed the national regulations. This is important because it means that our teachers can work with small groups or even 1:1 as needed.
Our play-based educational program:
• is based upon careful observation and documentation of the childrens interests, skills, strengths, knowledge, is developmentally appropriate and incorporates parent-identified goals.
• is complimented with a balance of intentional teaching experiences to extend each childs learning further.
• is inclusive, increases awareness, respect, appreciation, empathy and cultural competence
• is respectful of our natural and man-made environment and promotes learning of sustainable practices
• embeds indigenous perspectives to enhance the children’s learning about our first people with respect and authenticity.
• Is underpinned by The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia and our Philosophy
Information for Families:
• Each childs learning journey in relation to the Early Years Learning Framework for Australia is documented carefully. Each week, program updates are shared with families. Detailed information about each childs learning progress is shared with parents through Individual Developmental Summaries at the end of each semester.
